It has come to my attention that apparently NO English has been taught to my former students, or the new ones, since October. This suggests a somewhat cavalier attitude towards the students, and a serious degree of administrative and financial incompetence, not befitting a proper department of modern languages at a proper university. If anyone can shed light on this story, and let me know, I would appreciate it. I hope that you are not too frightened to do so. If people do not speak their minds to improve matters, democracy can be strangled by the powerpaths and cabalists.
